Lesson 12 of the 12 Days of Christmas Inspiration

12days.jpg
Did You Know... that you are free? [John 8:32]

David cried out to the Lord, "Why are you so downcast, O my soul?" [Psalm 139:5-6]

He felt trapped and helpless as a prisoner to his circumstances and to the limitations of his abilities to change things in his life. He had lost his hope, because David had tried with all his strength and ability but was still not seeing change.

Have you ever felt as a prisoner without hope in your life and the circumstances facing you? [Proverbs 13:12]

Did You Know... that the Truth has set you free and made you more than a Conqueror because of the Love of God that lives within you with His Divine power to overcome all battles both those in thoughts and those in the physical. [Romans 8:37-39, 2 Chronicles 20:12,15-17]

When the thoughts of your soul and mind are being taken prisoner by the enemies lies, you need to do the same as David did - speak out loud to your soul and mind the truth that comes from the Word of God about your freedom and victories over all of your difficulties.

Meditate on the good things God has done already in your life and for others, remembering He is the same yesterday and forever.  Focus your thoughts on God's ability to help you rather than on your ability to help yourself. [Philippines 4:8, Hebrews 13:5-8]

The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free" (Luke 4:18 NIV)

Song:  Mary, Did You Know?
Group:  Pentatonix

Lyrics:

Mary did you know that your baby boy will one day walk on water?
Mary did you know that your baby boy will save our sons and daughters?
Did you know that your baby boy has come to make you new?
This child that you've delivered, will soon deliver you

Mary did you know that your baby boy will give sight to a blind man?
Mary did you know that your baby boy will calm a storm with his hand?
Did you know that your baby boy has walked where angels trod?
And when you kiss your little baby, you have kissed the face of God

Mary did you know, Mary did you know, Mary did you know

The blind will see, the deaf will hear and the dead will live again
The lame will leap, the dumb will speak, the praises of the lamb

Mary did you know that your baby boy is Lord of all creation?
Mary did you know that your baby boy will one day rule the nations?
Did you know that your baby boy is heaven's perfect Lamb?
This sleeping child you're holding is the great I am

Mary did you know, Mary did you know, Mary did you know

Lesson 11 of the 12 Days of Christmas Inspiration

It's Christmas Day!

Did You Know... that "Love" never fails? [1 Corinthians 13:8]

How is it possible in a world we hear of all the relationship breakups, fighting and even wars that "Love" never fails?

The answer is that our understanding of "Love" is upside down. Today's understanding of "Love" is that I get what I want, and I get it now, at the lowest cost of discomfort.

I have had the pleasure of performing dozens of marriage ceremonies, and with each couple I ask them why they "Love" the other partner? Then I teach them what the True understanding of "Love" is.

"Love" is the giving of all of oneself for another. As much as we may try to "Love" with this understanding so often we fail, and so the faith and hope that "Love" never fails, fades into a mist that is only in fairy tales. Not True!

Watching the Disney movie Frozen this weekend with my granddaughter, Valentina, I saw the understanding of "Love" animated in what is supposed to be a children's movie, as the younger sister gives up all to save the life of her older sister and learns what True "Love" is.

There is another story that illustrates the True example of "Love" which is the story of God loving You so much that He was born, He lived, suffered, died and rose again to prove "Love" never fails.

Everyone else may fail to live up to "Love" but God is "Love" and will never fail to "Love" you, and He proved it by giving all for You.

Take the time to look up, read and meditate on these powerful scriptures on "Love" and let them widen, lengthen, heighten and deepen your knowledge of "Love" and the One who will never fail You.

"Love" scriptures [1 Corinthians 13, 1John 4, Ephesians 3:14-21, John 3:16]

"Love" never fails!

Lesson 10 of the 12 Days of Christmas Inspiration

12days.jpg
Did You Know... that the thoughts you think within yourself are the building blocks of what you are feeling and experiencing in your life?

As you reflect upon the Holiday just past and the New Year coming you have one of two paths to take of thinking upon them. The Proverb says; "As a person thinks so it is." This is the truth, both Spiritually and physiologically.  [Proverbs 23:7 NKJ]

Right now after the Holiday, you can find all the things wrong, such as the things you did not do, the things you didn't receive that you wanted, or you can search your heart to think upon the things that were good, loving, and beautiful. [Philippians 4:8-9]

Did You Know... No one makes the choices for you on what you choose to "think upon," but you?

Begin the New Year today, not on January 1st.  Start to take every thought captive and "think upon the good," and watch your life and your New Year be transformed by the renewing of your mind into more than you could ask or imagine. [2 Corinthians 10:3-6, Romans 12:2]

Summing it all up, friends, I’d say you’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies. Lesson 9 of the 12 Days of Christmas Inspiration

LESSON 9 Did You Know... that you are blessed by God? [Deuteronomy 28:1-14]

Not that you are going to be blessed, you are blessed abundantly already, that comes with the  benefits of being a Child of God you need to believe and receive it. [Mark 11:24, Psalm 103:1-5]

The problem is that there is a lot of "bullying" going on within your thoughts and emotions that you get robbed or blinded of what belongs to you and, most of the time, you do not even know because you think it's just the times, bad luck, something you did wrong, or it is for other people to be blessed but not you. [John 10:10]

Did You Know... God's word is full of over 5000 blessings that belong to the Children of God but just like in the Jewish Nation, enemies come to steal, kill and destroy that which God has given already to His Children.

As you prepare to open your gifts given by your loved ones this Holiday Season, take the time to open the Word of God and receive in your body, mind and soul what the One who loves you the most has given you. He has given you His precious and wonderful promises that if you will receive them by faith you will go through this life "Blessed by God," no matter what the circumstances you face, rejoicing with your praises for God's faithfulness and His Love that endures forever for His Children. [2 Peter 1:3-4, Psalm 118]

BONUS - Below I have included one of the lists of blessings...the list is endless as you search God's Word for your blessings as a Child of God on this earthly journey.

If you listen obediently to the Voice of God, your God, and heartily obey all his commandments that I command you today, God, your God, will place you on high, high above all the nations of the world. All these blessings will come down on you and spread out beyond you because you have responded to the Voice of God, your God:

God’s blessing inside the city,
God’s blessing in the country;
God’s blessing on your children,
the crops of your land,
the young of your livestock,
the calves of your herds,
the lambs of your flocks.
God’s blessing on your basket and bread bowl;
God’s blessing in your coming in,
God’s blessing in your going out.
God will defeat your enemies who attack you. They’ll come at you on one road and run away on seven roads.

God will order a blessing on your barns and workplaces; he’ll bless you in the land that God, your God, is giving you.

God will form you as a people holy to him, just as he promised you, if you keep the commandments of God, your God, and live the way he has shown you.

All the peoples on Earth will see you living under the Name of God and hold you in respectful awe.

God will lavish you with good things: children from your womb, offspring from your animals, and crops from your land, the land that God promised your ancestors that he would give you. God will throw open the doors of his sky vaults and pour rain on your land on schedule and bless the work you take in hand. You will lend to many nations but you yourself won’t have to take out a loan. God will make you the head, not the tail; you’ll always be the top dog, never the bottom dog, as you obediently listen to and diligently keep the commands of God, your God, that I am commanding you today. Don’t swerve an inch to the right or left from the words that I command you today by going off following and worshiping other gods. Did you know... all you need to do is make it Personal - “I am …”

Lesson 8 of the 12 Days of Christmas Inspiration

Did You Know... that God Loves you, and not only Loves you, but He adores you?
If you answered "yes," I have a challenge for you to consider. You have knowledge that God Loves you, but do you have the full enlightenment that would give you the confidence to fully trust and rely on His Love to live your life with no worries, no fears, with total assurance that God is working all things together for the good of your life because He Loves you? [1 John 4:16, Romans 8:28-39]

Did You Know... that David was the "Apple of God's Eye" and he would stand in awe of God's unearned, undeserved and beyond expected Love. [Psalm 8:3-5]

Paul gives us two powerful prayers to pray in the Book of Ephesians 3:14-21 and Ephesians 1:15-22 that will bring you to another level of enlightenment of the Love of God that lives within you that will change your life from the inside out, beyond what you could ever ask or imagine.

Do You Know... God Loves and adores you?

My response is to get down on my knees before the Father, this magnificent Father who parcels out all heaven and earth. I ask him to strengthen you by his Spirit—not a brute strength but a glorious inner strength—that Christ will live in you as you open the door and invite him in. And I ask him that with both feet planted firmly on love, you’ll be able to take in with all followers of Jesus the extravagant dimensions of Christ’s love. Reach out and experience the breadth! Test its length! Plumb the depths! Rise to the heights! Live full lives, full in the fullness of God.

God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us. [Ephesians 3:14-21 The Message (MSG)]

Lesson 6 of the 12 Days of Christmas Inspiration

Did You Know… that what is impossible for you to do or accomplish is possible with God? [Mark 10:27]

Did You Know... When you are overwhelmed with more things on your "TO DO" list, that there is not enough time, energy or money to accomplish, there is a way? But the way is not to try harder, stay up later, to be more positive or try to challenge your own strength and power.

You can accomplish all these things that mount up in front of you like mountains. [Zechariah 4:6-7]

In this world everyone is under great pressures and overwhelming issues that face them that are impossible for them to overcome or accomplish, this is not new. Moses was faced with the Red Sea, David faced a Goliath, and you are maybe facing mountains like family issues, health, debt or any number of giants and mountains in your life.

Did You Know... what Moses and David knew? That God waits for you to turn to Him and trust that the "Battle is not yours but is God's," to work all things together for the good.  [2 Chronicles 20:15, Romans 8:28-30]

Today say out loud to the mountains and giants in your way the Words in the scriptures below in a personal declaration of your trust and faith, that God will do what He has said He will do that you cannot do, and watch the Mountains become level ground. [Mark 11:22-24, 1 Thessalonians 5:24]

Personal Declaration from Romans 8:31-38

“No matter what comes against me, I am more than a conqueror, for God is for me nothing can defeat me, I belong to God and He is my strength!”

Lesson 5 of the 12 Days of Christmas Inspiration

12days.jpg

Did You Know… that there are thoughts you are listening to in your head and the words you hear spoken of worry, fear, anxiety, doubt, anger and others rob you of your peace, joy and the prosperity of the Abundant Life God has given you? [John 10:10, Isaiah 55:6-9]

But Did You Know... that there are Words within you that have the power to overcome those thoughts and take them captive and to lift you up out of the pit of gloom and doom to the Abundant Life that belongs to you by the Gift of God that lives in you. [Hebrews 4:12-13, 2 Corinthians 10:3-6]

Did You Know... "The Word became flesh and lived among us," the bible says in John 1:14 and now lives within you. But you must listen to His Voice and speak His Words to take captive all other voices and overcome the robber of your Abundant Life God has come and given to you because you have accepted Him within you. [John 10:10]

Don't waste another moment on the thoughts and feelings this world tries to pound you with, overcome and be what you have been called to be, "More than a Conqueror" because of Who lives and rules within you. [John 16:33, Romans 8:28-39]

For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account. [Hebrews 4:12-13 (NIV)]

Lesson 4 of the 12 Days of Christmas Inspiration

Did You Know… when times come that you feel all alone there is One who is always with you? [Hebrews 13:5-8]

Did You Know... that even when your family and friends all around you just do not understand your feelings, or what you are going through in your head or in life, there is One who knows exactly every feeling and has experienced them Himself and has the ability to help you. [John 16:33]

We live in a time of technology that a Text or Email is our common communication. In them there is no face to face, or sensitivity of understanding for feelings and issues that may be going on in your life. Did You Know... that the One who lives in you is One with you, knowing everything about you and what you are going through both the good and the ugly. [John 14:20]

The Bible says He waits anxiously to care for you as you come to Him and share all your feelings, thoughts, joys, questions and even frustrations as David did through the Psalms.

Did You Know ... You are not alone and the One within you is always there for you and will never leave you no matter what. He waits anxiously to care for you and restore you to the one He called you to be to fulfill your destiny He has planned for you. [Jeremiah 29;11-14]

“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” [Matthew 11:28-30 The Message (MSG)]

Lesson 3 of the 12 Days of Christmas Inspiration

Did You Know… when you have questions about your life that no one can answer for you, that the answer is within you? [Jeremiah 33:3]

At the Sermon on the Mount Jesus taught - "Ask and it will be given to you: seek and you will find: knock and the door will be opened to you." [Matthew 7:7-8]

Who do you ask these questions of and where do you seek the answers to open the doors of understanding no one can give you? [Isaiah 55:6-9]

Did You Know... that the greatest Counselor of all lives within your heart, the Holy Spirit? His work is to teach you all things and to remind you of everything that God has promised you for your life and to guide you on the path He has planned for you. [John 14:26-27, Jeremiah 29:11-14]

To receive the answers to your questions that your friends, family, and even wise counselors cannot answer for your life - Seek within your heart, which is where the Holy Spirit lives and is waiting to reveal to you the things your eyes have never seen, your ears have never heard and that your mind has never conceived. His desire is to guide you to the blessings God has prepared for you in advance. [1 Corinthians 2:9-16]

Ask, Seek and Knock on the door of your heart where He waits to answer you.

Lesson 2 of the 12 Days of Christmas Inspiration

My hope is that these Inspirations leading up to Christmas will illuminate your Holiday Season to open your eyes, mind, and heart to see this Christmas with a new revelation. Each day will have a new depth to renew your mind of the precious reason for the Season with the simple question of, “Did You Know…”

Did You Know… when you are feeling powerless over certain situations in your life and your surroundings, it makes you feel timid and weak. Did You Know... that you have been blinded of the Truth. [2 Timothy 1:6-7]

The Truth is you were given a Spirit of Power, Love and Self-discipline that has grown dim by the forgetfulness of the busy lives we live and all the human experiences we go through each day that dims us from hearing the Voice of God within us that reminds us of all things God has promised and has given to us. [James 1:22-25, John 14:26]

Did You Know... the Power that already lives in you gives you the ability to overcome and to change your life and the surroundings you live in beyond your imagination.

Take the time to read these scriptures I have placed below and referenced above to fan into the flame the Power within you to burn off the blindness of Who lives in you.

Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.

His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. [2 Peter 1:2-4 (NIV)]

For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands.  For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. [2 Timothy 1:6-7 (NIV)]

Did You Know? Lesson 1 of the 12 Days of Christmas Inspiration

12days.jpg

Over the next 12 days I have an Inspirational Message to share with you that was motivated by a powerful group Pentatonix, titled “Mary Did You Know?”

The song goes through verses asking Mary did she know the things her baby boy, Jesus, would do and become.

My 12 lessons will ask you, "Did You Know that there are power and wonder living inside of you?" I believe these 12 lessons, which will end the day after Christmas, will not only be an illuminating series for your Holiday Season but, even greater, will also bring you revelation to open your eyes, mind and heart to know and rely on the Spirit of Jesus living in you for the breakthroughs of your New Year and the best year ever.  [Romans 12:2]

Did You Know… when you are feeling like you are overwhelmed by all there is to do and the difficulties that you face to just get through one more day… Did you know that you have within you the greatest force and power that cannot be beaten or overcome?

You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

[1 John 4:4 NIV]

Just like Mary, although she had the knowledge of what the Angel told her and she accepted it, she had no idea who her little boy was going to become and what He would do in the world. It is the same for you. You have no idea what power is living within you until you stop to Renew your mind by speaking out loud the Words from the Scripture that say the following:

“Greater is He that is in me than anything I face or comes against me.”
“Jesus lives in me and I am an overcomer.”

Then as your faith is increased by these Words and your confidence is strengthened, you see the power of the Living God that lives within you, begin to work all things together for the good in your life as He has come and promised to give you.

[Isaiah 55:6-13, Romans 8:28-30, John 10:10]

Message:
My Beloved, you are secure in Me. No matter what the world may throw your way, I am your refuge, your strength, and your security. Trust that I hold you tightly in My arms. There is no fear in My love, only peace and assurance.

Scripture:
"For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord." – Romans 8:38-39 ESV

"The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe." – Proverbs 18:10 ESV

"I will both lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, Lord, make me live in safety." – Psalm 4:8 TPT

Reflection:
You are safe in My presence. I am the fortress around you, and nothing can reach you without My permission. You do not need to fear the storms of life, for I am your refuge. Trust in the security of My love today.

Journal Prompt:
Where do you need to experience God's security today? Reflect on the areas of your life where you feel insecure and invite Him to bring peace and protection into those spaces.

Allowing God to Redeem the Time in Your Hands

The best-selling author of Redeeming Your Time, Jordan Raynor, sits down with me for a delightful conversation on his new book to talk about the seven powerful biblical principles for being purposeful, present, and wildly productive in an age where we’re forced to just move through the motions of life.

What is a common misconception you have about the time in your hands? Mine would be that I need to be productive. All. The. Time. And being productive means constantly doing something that will greatly impact my future and the lives of those around me.

However, as I talked with best-selling author Jordan Raynor and after I read his book Redeeming Your Time, most of my misconceptions about “making time” and “time management” just went away.

Simply put, the only way we can allow God to redeem our time is by shifting our focus on our Redeemer Jesus Christ (not on our growing to-do lists!), the most productive human being who has ever lived. If He can redeem us from sin, He can surely redeem us from slavery to time, too.

Fact: there are a lot of things that attempt to distract us from God’s will for us on how to spend every single day. And it’s the same with Jesus!

When He was walking on Earth, there were a lot of times when people and circumstances attempted to distract Him and take Him away from what God wanted Him to do in a day—people were sick and dying and in need of healing and new life—yet He was always present. He was always in the moment. He was always with us

If you want to allow God to redeem your time, too, here are the seven principles that Jordan talked about in his book—in a nutshell. I pray that these will help you redeem your time, too, the way they did mine

Put God at the beginning of your every day

“Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.” —Mark 1:35

Remember how Jesus always started His day by being with God? That’s the way we ought to do it, too. When we start our day by listening to God, we will learn to listen to how we’re meant to spend the rest of the day, too. This is the first and most important key to redeeming our time.

Let your “yes” be a “yes.”

“All you need to say is simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything beyond this comes from the evil one.” —Matthew 5:37

The problem with us is we say “yes” even when we actually mean to say “no.” Practice saying “yes” when you fully and wholeheartedly mean to say a “yes.”

Prioritize.

“While Jesus was in one of the towns, a man came along who was covered with leprosy. When he saw Jesus, he fell with his face to the ground and begged him, ‘Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.’ Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. ‘I am willing,’ he said. ‘Be clean!’ And immediately the leprosy left him.” —Luke 5:12-13

Since we’re only limited beings, we must prioritize the things we commit to. We don’t have to say “yes” to everything and to everyone, but we have to say “yes” to the important things or to the things where God is leading us.

Be okay with spending time in the quietness.

“But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.” —Luke 5:16

Spend time in the peace and quiet with God. When your mind is starting to get cluttered, don’t be afraid to withdraw for a while and realign your day and time with the Author of Time—God Himself.

Be present.

“While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew’s house, many tax collectors and sinners came and ate with him and his disciples.” —Matthew 9:10

We are not omnipresent like God. And, believe it or not, this is okay. God is okay with this. Jesus, who definitely had a lot of things to do and who was dealing with a lot of things during His limited time on earth, took time and stayed in the present. He was present in teaching His disciples and in being with the people He was meant to be with in the moment.

Embrace rest.

“Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, ‘Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.’ So they went away by themselves in a boat to a solitary place.” —Mark 6:31-32

Taking a break from everything is okay. Resting in God is okay. It is productive to be still and just delight and enjoy being in the presence of God. When we’re fully refreshed in God, we can also fully give ourselves to His will for us.

Eliminate hurry.

“It was just before the Passover Festival. Jesus knew that the hour had come for him to leave this world and go to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.” —John 13:1

In the words of Jordan, “God loves you regardless of how productive you are in this life.” Jesus loved us to the end of His life on earth. His joy was complete when He redeemed us from everything that enslaves us.

This is why we can also eliminate being a slave to a life of hurry. We are now able to delight, enjoy, and cherish where God leads us every day because we don’t have to prove anything to Him.

What we do or don’t do doesn’t matter to God; He loves us regardless of how many things we’ve accomplished on our to-do lists. Today, may we keep this thought in our hearts: that we are loved by God, period.

If you want to dive deep into these seven powerful time principles, listen to my conversation with Jordan and don’t forget to purchase his latest book Redeeming Your Time.

Reset Your Life to Live the Best Life Ever

Audio Version

How You Can Reset Your Life Today

In hard times, we just want to get our life together and hit reset.

The good news is, resetting your life is possible here and now. It doesn’t need to happen tomorrow, in a decade, or never. Resetting your life can happen anytime you need a change.

The second good news is that changing your life is a choice. You can choose to stay in the status quo, or you can let go and admit that you need God’s help.

Resetting your life starts with the mind

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. (Romans 12:1–2)

If we look at this verse, we will see that transformation happens through the renewal of the mind. Lasting change doesn’t happen when our external situations change--when our finances are in order, when the dream house is built, or when the travel plans push through. Change is first and foremost, internal: when the mind is renewed. In simple terms, if you want to reset your life, then you have to start with your mind.

The problem with the mind is that it is corrupted. We would rather follow what family, friends, experts, influencers, or culture says instead of what God says. For example, the world will tell you that success is defined by being rich. But God says that the goal is not simply to be rich but to honor God with our wealth. The pressures to conform to this world is what makes our lives dissatisfying, overwhelming, purposeless, and burdensome. In contrast, living our lives for God makes us fruitful and fills us with joy, no matter what our circumstances may be.

In a situation like this, how do we renew our minds so we can reset our lives?

Surrender your life to God. God alone has the power to transform your life from the inside out. Maybe it’s time to go to Him and admit that you can’t do it on your own. Maybe you’ve tried so hard the past months or even years without success. Remember this, when you are weak, God is strong. The cross of Jesus allows us to go to God in humility, confess our failures, and receive His refreshing and renewing grace.

Feed your mind with God’s Word. The bible tells us to think about good things, things that are pure, right, noble, lovely, and admirable. Meditating on God’s Word and reflecting on how it applies to our lives can powerfully change our mindsets and actions. For example, do you want to change the state of your finances? God says a lot about money in His Word. Grab your bible and choose a nice journal to record God’s message for you. In challenging times, you will find God’s Word to be a source of strength.

Spend time in rest and prayer. Take a sabbath or go on a spiritual retreat. Sometimes, we all need what Elijah needed when he was feeling angry and depressed: good food, a good rest, and a good Word from God.

Surround yourself with a nurturing community. God is all we need, but God also designed us to walk with others. Find friends and family who can give you encouragement and help you in your journey of resetting your life.

The power to reset your life lies in God’s hands. May He give you the grace to transform your life today!

Shifting Our Perspective During Life’s Difficult Moments

As human beings, we always feel the need to be in control. We need to know where our lives are headed two, three, or five years from now. We always need to be ten steps ahead. We always need to be in the driver’s seat.

However, we all know that we’re not in full control. We’re especially aware of this during our most difficult moments when we don’t know what will happen next.

Surely, God will carry us through and He’ll give us the victory to overcome. But what will happen next? How do we move forward from where we are?

It is easy to get stuck and feel paralyzed in the face of the unknown, but when we shift our perspective and surrender our lives to God—during the storm and after the storm—we’ll get fresh eyes to see His miracles.

If there’s something I learned from my conversation with Sara Carnes, it’s to ask God this question: what do You want me to learn from this hardship?

Surely, God doesn’t want us to go through trials just because He feels like giving us one. He wants us to go through these hardships and difficulties because He wants to change us and the course of our lives and to, ultimately, give glory to His name.

Are we starting to depend on ourselves more instead of on His grace?

Are we too full of ourselves to think we can do life on our own?

Are we dead set on something that may be good but does not necessarily obey the will of God?

We only learn who we are and our priorities when God taps us and asks us to surrender everything to Him. Yes, even when we don’t know what’s going to happen next.

When we read the Bible, we must always remember that even Jesus, the Son of God, wasn’t exempt from a life of trials. He even promised us trials. But in the midst of the chaos and the madness, He also promised us Himself; He overcame the world, and we will too because of Him.

The question is are we willing to trust Him and learn who He is and His will for us even when life is difficult?

At this time, more than ever, it’s so easy to be overwhelmed. The good news is God didn’t leave us on our own; He gave us His powerful Word to guide us through life.

The Scripture always has something to say about how we live so we can glorify the name of God. Learn with us on how to read it, reflect on it, and bring God’s word to life through our Journey to Transformation for Your Best Life Ever workshop happening next month!

Going Back to the Word in Times of Trial - Interview with Elyse Fitzpatrick

3 Promises from the Bible to Help You Crush the Biggest Lies from the World

One thing we have to remember every day is that we are not citizens of this world; we are, first and foremost, citizens of heaven because we are God’s children.

It is important to remember this truth, along with God’s promises from the Bible, because it will help you recognize the lies that this world throws at you—especially whenever you are going through trying seasons

Whenever we’re faced with tough circumstances, we tend to listen to voices that aren’t from God. We tend to listen to voices from the enemy that just discourage us.

So during these times, we need to go back to the Word. We need to quiet our thoughts and listen to God instead, to allow Him to remind us of who He is and His power to carry us through our life’s valleys.

Here are three common lies, which I got from my conversation with Elyse Fitzgerald, that we tend to accept as facts and three Biblical promises that are actually true to help you fight these lies from the enemy

Lie: “You are not enough.”

God’s Truth: “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” —Ephesians 2:10

Even before God put us in our mother’s womb, He already had a plan for us. It’s not true that we’re just a shot out of the void; we were predestined by God for good works that give glory to His name. This is why we’re enough.

Whatever abilities we have, God provided these for the work He has set before us. And whatever abilities we lack, God will provide those too according to the abundance of His grace.

Lie: “You will not get through this.”

God’s Truth: “Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” —John 16:33

God’s children will always get through anything and everything. Why? Because He has overcome the world, which means we live victorious lives too because we’re His children and we’re partakers of His kingdom.

Our role in this difficult time? We need to pray for peace and wisdom. We need to continue looking to Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection to remind ourselves that salvation is always at hand because Jesus has already saved us on the cross.

Lie: “You have no power.”

God’s Promise: “He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength.” —Isaiah 40:29

Our God is our endless source of power and strength. And through what Jesus accomplished on the cross, we are partakers of these too.

When you feel like you’re powerless in the face of temptations or challenging decisions, remember God’s power that continues to hold you to this day.

God didn’t bring you this far just to release His hold on you; He brought you to this day to prove that He is powerful in the midst of your impossible situations.

Renewing Your Mind and Transforming Your Life: Interview with Dave Martin

How To Start Your Day Right

We often take the first few minutes of our days for granted, without knowing that our morning habits have the power to change the tone of our entire day.

Then we go about our daily tasks mindlessly, and we wonder why there are moments when we’re impatient, demotivated, or irritable when nothing disastrous happened and we’re supposed to be in a good mood.

If, like me, you want to transform your day and your life daily, then it’s time to change your morning habits.

My good friend Dave Martin calls his first hour of every day his “Hour of Power.” And I think it’s a good practice that we should all adapt.

What should our “Hour of Power” look like if we want a great day? It involves reading the Word of God and meditating on it.

We often take our time with God for granted. We think we can just insert it somewhere during the day. We give God the leftovers of our time and ask Him to change our lives with what little we give.

This isn’t how we’re supposed to live.

There is a reason why Jesus spent His early mornings in prayer and in communion with God. It gives Him time to listen to God, to be led by God, and to submit His entire day to God’s will. Yes, we can talk to God, but it makes a whole lot of difference when we quiet our thoughts and listen to what God wants us to do for the day.

Through our “Hour of Power,” we allow God to lead us because He knows best, instead of us trying to make sense of what’s happening in our lives daily. We can trust Him and His ways because He goes before us and knows everything.

If you have been wanting to transform your life for the longest time but somehow you just can’t seem to get started, I invite you to spend your first hour every morning in communion with God. I assure you that it is life-changing to listen to Him every day.

“And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, he departed and went out to a desolate place, and there he prayed.” —Mark 1:35
